George, a black cat who lives in NYC, had a scary adventure when he went to the vet with his owner, Mila Rusafova. She took him on the subway, but a loud noise spooked the innocent cat that he escaped her arms. He ran onto the train tracks, where he froze in fear.
The Lucky Rescue
A train was approaching fast, and Mila was desperate to save him. She got help from some kind strangers who alerted the subway staff to stop the train. Two NYPD officers, Brian Kenny, and Gus Vargas, also arrived and managed to rescue George from his hiding spot.
Officer Kenny narrated how terrified George was in such a situation to the extent he could feel George running out of breath. George was so scared that he couldn’t move from the spot and his tail was almost on the third rail. They had to gently and carefully get him out to avoid frightening the poor cat more.
The Look of Gratitude
Officer Kenny further said that picking up George from the rail track was an emotional experience. As he bent to lift the kitty up, he gave him a warm hug like a baby looking up to the officer with gratitude. Kenny is an animal lover and is happy to save this kitty. He gave an assurance that he and his colleague would have come to the rescue of the cat no matter what. They wouldn’t let anything happen to George.
We are so happy that George is safe and sound! But, we hope his owner gets a cat carrier for future trips! Thank goodness NYPD was there to help!
