A tiny Pug puppy was found on a rooftop, leaving everyone puzzled about how he got there. He appeared stuck and scared, waiting for someone to save him. So, the local community didn’t waste any time; a neighbor called the Austin Animal Center in Texas right away. 

Rescue Arrives

Animal protection officers Staci Figueroa and Erica Cerza arrived quickly. It puzzled them to find out the puppy got onto the roof through a hallway and railings.

The rescue was tricky because the puppy was close to a big hole in the roof, and he could have fallen through. Staci and Erica knew they had to act fast. With help from a neighbor, they took off a piece of the fence near the roof with a screwdriver, which made it easier to reach the puppy.

Taken Home and Named 

Once safe, the puppy was calm in Cerza’s arms, a bit confused but not upset. He even started to play, pulling on Cerza’s hair. The rescuers asked the apartment managers  to tell everyone about the puppy in case he had an owner, but no one came forward. So, the took him to the center for care and gave him the name Wicket.

A Charming and Playful Puppy 

Wicket quickly showed his playful and loving personality. He charmed everyone and soon found a new family to love him. Now, Wicket is enjoying life, going on adventures, and feeling safe and happy, just like every dog should.
