Dog Saved During Tornado Warning After Owner Dumped Him On The Road

The Animal Pad rescue team got a call about a puppy alone on a road. He stayed right where his owner left him, which was really sad to see. As the rescuers got there, the weather got bad, and the puppy ran away. Then, they got a tornado warning, which was a first for San Diego. They had to hurry to save the dog.

Stuck in the Bush

The puppy ran into some bushes full of cacti and got stuck. The rescuers, armed with chicken, went after him. Lauren, one of the rescuers, got a taste of the cactus too, and she explained how it hurt a lot.

Help at Last

Lauren used a catch pole to gently touch the dog so as to not scare him. The puppy was growling and showing his teeth, but he figured it’s best if he got some help. So, he gently sat down and showed them his paw with a cactus thorn in it. The thorn injury was painful and he has tried to remove it but failed.

A Saved Dog

The rescuers were able to loop the catch pole around the puppy’s neck, and they were so happy to finally get him into their van. But then, they realized the van’s battery died from leaving the hazard lights on!

To see if they managed to get the puppy, named Pete, back to the rescue center, you can watch The Dodo’s video. It’s a relief that help found Pete just in time.
